silas, You don't have to change camera's sensor size. It is contant and doesn't depend of DCRaw settings :)

Hi ArtDen,

Your guideline to calculate color profile tells to set WB to daylight. I have pointed out in another thread that the daylight
is not actually a preset, and it can vary wildly if one points the camera to the CRT/LCD monitor (for calibration),depending on their color temp. (It is actually mixture of AWB and preset) See Beware, WB presets don't have a fixed behaviour

My suggestion is to reset all camera settings to factory defaults, and then use the factory set custom white balance to find the color matrix, as it is the true preset and is close to daylight.

wap4,why do you think that custom white balance is for 6500 (or 5500) color temperature?

The results I observed for factory set custom WB is closest to daylight preset for sunlit outdoor scenes, I can't tell whether it is 5500K or 6500K, I was a bit sloppy in the earlier post, sorry. The problem is that current matrix for A720IS does not match well the camera JPG colors (with daylight preset) when I set color balance to daylight in Adobe Camera Raw.

I still can't calculate good color profile for A720IS (and for some other cameras). Looks like it is not possible with my method as some cameras do extra color (or brightness) conversion for Jpeg files.

ArtDen, it would be correct to notify that you are calculating only a color matrix here (unless something changed in the meantime), because according to Adobe dng specification ver 1.2, color profile consist of quite a number of diferent informations - color matrix, forward matrix, HSV lookup table ... - separately for daylight and tungsten iluminant
