Now that we got OK RAW's by setting CAM_BLACK_LEVEL to 128, someone could get us proper calibration matrix for SX110..  :)

I've been trying with the SX110 but results have always slightly oversaturated red colors, not much but its noticeable.

My girlfriend just bought SX110. Did a quick test of raw mode and, as expected, embeded matrix is about 5 light years off

In the meantime, you can use my matrix for A650, pixel size is similar, and quick visual check shown it's usable.
Eventually, I'll probably make a better one for SX110 and a profile for it, although I don't think she will use raw, as dng saving takes ages even with class 6 card

DngSetMatrix  %1  m  0.670 0.281 0.752  0.221 1.090 1.000  0.061 -0.189 -0.386

Noticed that camera, with card locked, always starts in preview mode. Anyone else with this problem

Thank I'll try this
Its normal

Thanks

In the meantime, I found out there is a version of DNG4PS2 for SX110. Works with 10 bit, but doesn't matter for me, lower 2 bits of original raw are noise anyway ... and resulting dng is smaller

Matrix to use in DNG4PS2, corresponding to xyY notation, used by DngSetMatrix, is

0.621700 -0.142400 -0.057500 -0.505300 1.166000 0.222700 -0.098000 0.152500 0.464900

As i said, this is my matrix for A650, it's not spot on for SX110, but much better than matrix embeded in a dng. Anyway, it should be slightly corrected for this camera. On my daylight test image, it required temperature about 4700K and Tint about -10 for correct white balance (temperature 5200K and tint around 0 expected), but color hues are quite ok

Another thing, I found safe to use image size about 3672x2756 (several pixels more or less), because there is 10.3 Mpix sensor in this 9 MPix camera (probably Sony ICX665/675), as stated in the manual, so we can have slightly wider lens (and slightly more vigneting)

Hi vit40,

thank you for your efforts. That's are really good news.
As far as I understand, your matrix is meant to be used in DNG4PS2. Is that correct?

Which image size are you meaning with 3672x2756 --> CAM_ACTIVE_AREA_X1* or CAM_RAW_*?

Regards.

Hi,

after some experimenting, I ended up with this geometry settings

sensor size 3720 x 2772
jpeg size    3672 x 2756
x1 y1         10, 12
x2, y2        3690, 2772

I also found some time to slightly correct a matrix from A650 to suit this sensor. Red primary had to be moved slightly down and blue primary slightly to the right in CIE xy diagram, and whitebalanced it, so that result match the result from 400D (Adobe 4.4 calibration for 400D)

New matrix in form XYZ-> RGB (to be used in DNG4PS2)

    0.745700 -0.175100 -0.078400 -0.498400 1.168100 0.230400 -0.100400 0.152700 0.460100

Hope you will find this better. Didn't have a time to test it on more real pictures

Of course, as I already explained before, by using conversion with a color matrix only, it's not possible to get the same colors as from jpeg. Red is always slightly shifted towards orange and deep saturated colors are darker. Hence Adobe introduced color profiles - additional HSV lookup table used during conversion from sensor color space to sRGB (or whatever destination color space)

I'm too stupid -.-
When I use DNG4PS2 for SX110IS (very buggy^^) I everytime get a full blue picture with these Settings o0? Which version I should use?

Sorry, it seems I copied wrong values of the matrix (don't have a clue where from), I corrected previous post, hope this time is ok

Developed raw image of test picture looks like this     http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IRDQT4ZI

Version of DNG4PS2 I used is 0.2.3 beta 285
