Do I need to set both a bit rate AND quality setting, depending on which "mode" I'm using ("bitrate" or "quality")?

Or is one a single value all that is needed, depending on whatever mode I'm using?

Sorry if this sounds strange - I'm at CHDK day 2 training...

You can choose EITHER quality mode OR bitrate mode; both modes do have their own setting that will be active when the corresponding mode is selected.

  • Bitrate is a factor value from 0.25x - 3x for constant bitrate (CBR mode, variable quality) compression
  • Quality is a value for variable bitrate (VBR mode, constant quality) compression
