Hi,

I notice that this camera is beginning to sell for more than it's suggested retail ($129).  I assume this means that supplies of it are getting low.  This is too bad, it was a great camera at a bargain price AND it has CHDK.

So what next?  The successors to the A590, the A1100 and A2100 have no manual controls and CHDK hasn't been ported to them.  Is the a590 the end of an era?

This is even more of a problem for stereo and multi-camera photography.

Apart from needing at least two cameras, it is best if they have a viewfinder, can be spaced very closely (TX1) or have a squarish shape for easy twinning (ixus70).

Certainly is sad Canon saw fit to discontinue such a great little cam without a decent replacement, I nearly bought a spare start of the year when they were AU$128, didn't realise the low prices then were simply stock runouts.
