Hello everyone!
It's great to be here on the forefront of such innovation, sharing the board with geniuses. I, however, am not a genious, or else I would be better able to phrase my question. Just an innovator who wants to get more control over the camera, aware of alternatives that exceed my financial means. In fact, every camera I have owned has been a gift. The two digital ones have both been Kodak Easyshare. I am more hesitant, of course, to brick my newer one, the C813.
But, for the CX7300, I am open to that possibility. I hope that the architecture may offer enough similarities to give me a constructive experience with a first test on a compile. However, because I am entirely new to this project, I may need some pointers about the differences in hardware should the documentation not be found in the source code.
Of course, I will be doing as much research as possible before getting started. But, I figured there would be some specific things I would need to do to compile 32-bit on my 64-bit OS. I can always boot to Windows, but I figured there might be some great utilities out there for hardware probing (should this be necessary) available for my native x64 Linux env.
Any and all advice welcome. Is it safe to assume, "Abandon Hope All Who Enter Here?"
Thank you!
Best Regards,
Ambitious Josh
