I guess you mean the history of the News page ?

Yes.

I made a small edit (meta tag) on the start page, maybe this forces a reload now...please try again, first with a 'normal' refresh (F5), then with CTRL-F5 (force refresh).

For whatever reason, I can now see my posting, even without forcing refresh !

when you edit the main page, do you also see the old content of the news page in the preview ?

Yes, and when I returned to the main page it momentarily contained my new posting.

What has changed, why is it happening now ?

When you edit the main page, the whole page (with the embedded frames / templates) will be recognized as changed/modified (no more 304 message); then a cache refresh is forced (on your machine and - maybe more important - on all proxies between you & the machine that hosts/deliver the page).

(See also Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1: 10 Status Code Definitions)

My "edit" was just a colon in a meta text: link...

BTW - you accidentally removed the 2009-07-18 news entry; i've added it again... after a refresh (Ctrl-F5) i also got the old content on the main page... after modifying the main page again, i get the updated page.

So the "solution" is to make an edit (on the page where the template is embedded) to force a refresh  8)

So, there was an existing problem ....

No, I removed that to see if it would be missing from the main page, which it was not, of course.

Thanks for your courteous help   :)
