@msl,
thanks for adding this to the trunk, yes I can clean up camera.h at next update (should be last update if all goes well).

Thanks again,

@OldGit

Another thread, very long time video control mode not working on a590is fw1.0.1b.
I think you are expert to video mode. Can you help and time to a590 users?

Flash out not mechanically linked?

@phKU,
if the flash was "jammed" (kept closed) by a mechanical defect , the camera would still work as you describe.
The firmware has functions that detect if the flash is open or closed.
But no function exists that will "open a closed flash" or "close an open flash".

Regarding the accents, I don't know, maybe this is a general question for the senior devs.

All,
I have finally found a fix for the AV Bracketing bug. :D
Attached is a test build (100C / 100D diskboot file).

If anyone can test this and post results I would be very gratefull.

Please note that this "may" have an effect on the time between exposures.
(number of frames per second).

This timing delay (as against standard canon times) should only be applied when AV bracketing in continuous mode is set and should
only affect the "Continuous AF / LV" or "Custom Timer" Modes (NOT the "Contiuous Mode")

@OldGit,
I know well it's normal the flash function isn't available when the flash box is kept closed. It's though very unusual a hardware problem get fixed by itself contrariwise to software problem. But as you say there's no function available for that, this question return to dust in my concern.

Thanks for your reply  :)

Something else: I updated to last build sx200is-100d-0.9.9-890-full and now, in the French localization and some others, special characters (accents, etc.) are replaced by square boxes. Since the language files weren't updated, I guess there's some problem in current build about character encoding. Or did I something wrong?
I don't think any of this has changed for a long time, so I'd guess it's on your end. You can try changing the OSD codepage, or you remove your CCHDK.CFG to reset your configurations (or move it somewhere else if you might want to switch back)
Don't forget what the H stands for.

@tkgafs,
thanks for testing, smartkiller and TT also did some quick tests and it seems we are on the right lines.

But I just found a possible problem when flash is used.

Needs some more work, but we will get it right.

Thanks again
