SX10 - remapping zoom & focus functions on buttons

hey,

the SX10 allows you to shoot video with manual focusing.

however, this manual focusing is rather cumbersome, since done via the wheel at the back.

would it be possible to, when in video mode, have the point of focus be manipulated by another button, e.g. by the zoom trigger?

zooming during video causes quite some shaky footage, so I'm not so fond of zooming during video recording anyway. That's why I, personally, would prefer to have the zoom option be moved back to the rotating wheel, and then have the focus shift function on the zoom trigger. or sacrifice the zoom option alltogether, when in video mode.

thanks a lot for your thoughts!

Hi all,

I second this request to be avaible even in photo mode (and for other cams, I own a g9).
What I propose is to focus with the zoom lever and zoom with the keys left / right(maybe), also it would be very useful to vary the speed of focus and/or zoom with the arrow up / down(maybe). But maybe a script could be enough to that, let's post in the script forum!

bye!

I think I'm not be able to code a single line of this!
Do you think that exif data can contain a full description of the used grid?
