I wanted to take some high speed shots of milk drops like the ones made famous by Dr. Edgerton.

After getting some good ones by manually triggering the shots I decided to build a delay circuit and use the synchable remote function.  The beauty of this whole setup is that you don't need to use a speedlite flash and you don't have to darken the room while taking the shots.

Here's a short video showing the rig in action:Laser Triggered High-Speed Photography
Here's the complete build instructions:http://www.instructables.com/id/Laser-Triggered-High-Speed-Photography/

If you notice any mistakes or can suggest improvements please let me know.

I saw that instructable yesterday.

The synchable-remote code was first implemented in SDM, mainly for stereo and multi-camera photography.
It has continued to be developed there.

You mentioned some problems in the Instructable, I suggest you try an SDM build to see if that solves the problems.

Just replace the DISKBOOT.BIN file.
You may also like to download Common_files.zip from SDM website, it has many useful features including powerful timelapse support.

Thanks David.  I'll try that.

Let me know how you get on.

Nice pictures !

Someday, I need to make a beamsplitter and try it in stereo.

This has been done before, but not by me   :)
