Support for SD990IS Firmware, version GM1.01B?

Although a stable beta CHDK release is available for SD990IS firmware GM1.00E, my new camera reports GM1.01B. I tried loading the beta for GM1.00E but, of course, it did not work.

I am wondering if anyone is working on this firmware version or if there is anything I can do to help. I bought this camera specifically to use CHDK so I am motivated to provide any help I can.

Alternatively, does it seem likely that I could downgrade my firmware to 1.00E?

As I replied in PM, it needs a new port. If you are fluent in C and assembler, see http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/For_Developers especially http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Adding_support_of_a_new_camera

Porting a new revision of an existing port is easier than making port for an entirely different model. Basically, some offsets/addresses change, but there's a bunch of inline assembler that needs to be updated as well.

I may try to do this without having the camera, but no promise of any specific timeframe.

I'm not aware of any way to downgrade firmware.

Would it help if I did the procedure for creating a dump and sending it to you? I would be delighted to be a test subject.

No, there's already a dump available. I will post in the SD990 development thread http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,2972.0.html if there is something to test.
