What am I doing wrong?

Hello,
I've got the SX10is, with the CHDK running perfectly ...or maybe not... The problem is that I've got it all running, chose to record raw files in crw and dng files, but when I tried it, it continues to only record jpeg files. What am I doing wrong? What changes do I have to do?
Many thanks!!

@gexplorer

Probably nothing very much.
Don't forget that Canon review mode does not know anything about CRW or DNG files, and will not
be able to show them ... the same might be true for Canon file transfer software (i wouldn't know ...
never used it)
Try the CHDK File Browser to see the files (well, the filenames only ...) in camera, and transfer them
to a computer to see & tweak them.
That sounds like a severe limitation, but consider this:

1) JPG will always be saved, whether you set RAW on or off

2) you wouldn't be able to see the difference between JPG and RAW anyway on a small LCD

hope that helps,

wim

...another possibility could be:

When the CHDK option "RAW in dir with JPG" from the CHDK RAW menu is disabled,
the RAW image files will be stored in a different folder as the JPG's,
in \DCIM\000CANON\  folder (hmmm, or was it 100CANON - don't remember...).

Yes, that could be the case, the problem is that when I open the "camera" icon in "My computer", there are no other folders, just jpegs.
Anyway, I'll also try Whim's way.

Thanks

Hi again
I just found out using the in camera browser that the crw files are there in a different folder. The problem is the same as I mentioned before in the previuos post, that when I open the camera in "My computer", I only see the jpegs, so, how can I see the other files?
Thanks

- Enable "RAW file in dir with JPEG"
- set "RAW file prefix" to CRW_
- set "RAW file extension" to .CR2
- power off & on the camera once before you connect to USB
- now you should see the RAW images in the Windows Explorer (other software / the Windows assistant may not show them)

When you've got DNG support enabled, you should disable "DNG file extension"; the images then will have .CR2 as filename extension, but they are in the DNG format; rename the files to .dng after you've transferred them.

I tried what you're saying, but still with no results.

Here's what I have:
On Raw development the jpegs are in the folder 101Canon, and the CRW are in the 100Canon.
On the menu, this is what I have:
Save raw             [Y]
Dark Frame Sub.  [Auto]
Only first raw in series [Y]
Raw file in dir with jpeg [Y]
Raw file Prefix CRW_
Raw file extension .CR2
Raw subtract prefix SND_
RAw subtract extension .CRW
Bad pixel removal OFF
DNG Format - When I press it I get this message: ERROR cannot load CHDK/badpixel.bin Please run CHDK/SCRIPTS/TEST/badpixel.lua
DNG file extension - I had it on, but now it is off
Raw buffer cached - Y

Hope you can help me out with this info
Many thanks

The "Raw file in dir with jpeg [Y]" is just for new images...

I guess the transfer mechanism (canon use a crippled PTP protocol) have problems when the files are in different folders.

You should copy your images with a card reader, after that you should start with an empty card (the settings looks ok)...

--> just do that, run the script...here's a little guidance: forum link.
