Manual mode for camers who haven't

I am still a novice in CHDK development, I'd like to know what do you think about the following ideas

- Replace one of the existing modes (ex. Kids mode ore some other mode selected via CHDK menu) to behave as a full Manual mode
- When in new manual mode one can control shutter speed with up/down keyboard keys and aperture with left/right keys (no need to enter override menu)
- Live view on the screen is updated in real time to preview photo result. Also histogram and zebra should be updated in real time to reflect the actual exposure

Do you think it is something possible? Is there someone working on this? I've searched the forum but have not found anything

Thanks for your help

If possible this would be very difficult. CHDK doesn't interface with the canon UI at all.

Something like this could probably be implemented. You could do it with script as well. A standard 'manual mode' script might be a good start.

These should show the correct things when you half press with a given setting. Getting it to do it without half press would be difficult IMO.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
