For my S5IS I have made a nice electric remote shutter release & I am busting to use it.
I have tried to load the SD with the version firmware 101b & load it onto the camera.
I have tried all the different instructions (as best as I can) but some have different content on the SD ?
After loading something onto the camera I go to take a shot & see the new screen, but when I open the menu nothing is different ? I can't seem to get into alt by using the printer button ?
I would like this to work, especially the remote shutter release Please ?

To enter the CHDK main menu press the PRINT button for <Alt> mode, then MENU

That is one problem, when I press the PRINT button for <Alt> mode, then MENU, I get no result ?

Are you sure CHDK is really loaded ? Do you see the additional OSD symbols, e.g. the CHDK battery OSD ?
Did you change the <Alt> key in the CHDK menu ?
--> delete the CHDK config file on your SD card (/CHDK/cchdk.cfg) with a card reader, then try again
Is the PRINT/SHORTCUT key working correctly without CHDK ?
--> register a function with visible feedback (e.g. the sleep function, zzZ) to the PRINT/SHORTCUT button from the Canon menu, then test the button

OK now we are getting somewhere :-)
It seems that the PRINT/SHORTCUT key is not a happy-chappy & needs to be pressed firmly & a few times to work ?
I now can access the CHDK menu.
OSD symbols ? On Screen Display, I think ? Yes they are there.
The 12m next to the battery state, I don't understand ?

I see from the forum that one press on the remote can activate the 1/2 press focus then another press will activate the shutter. I haven't seen an option for this on the menu yet.
