A710is unable to boot in playback mode - Solved
« on: 05 / September / 2009, 22:09:15 »

When I boot my A710 in playback mode, it:

1. Flashes the blue led very briefly
2. Turns the backlight in the lcd on (black screen still)
3. Flashes the green led
4. Turns the backlight off

It turns on just fine to record mode.
It occurs with autoboot, and when I use the manual update option from the menu (and since it is in play mode to display the "firm update" option it crashes afterwards, unless I quickly move the slider to record)
I am using the latest autobuild (796)

What can I do?

Here are two builds from before the most recent a710 specific changes. Please test them and let us know if they have the same problem. I expect one of these changes introduced the bug.

build 712 http://www.zshare.net/download/651364066d8adbc0/
build 713 http://www.zshare.net/download/651364415a07b6e3/

note: zshare has some annoying popups, but the forum attachment limit won't let me upload full builds.

They are both booting into play and record mode without any trouble.

That one works too.

Btw, where do you find these links?

Okay, no idea what happened, but the 796 autobuild works now.

Guess it was the deleting of everything on the card, and copying it back again that did the trick.

Thanks :)

I built each version and uploaded it.

It sounds like it might have been something in your CCHDK.CFG file. If this happens again, save a copy of this file (found in the CHDK folder on the card) and then remove it from your card. Maybe we can figure out from the file what went wrong.

Tried to recover the file, but was unable to do so. Will come back to this thread if I get the issue to return.
