I am newbie to photography. I own Canon A620. I need an information reagarding Aperture setting.

Canon A620 sets aperture value to f/4.0 at full optical zoom. If i set override aperture setting to f/2.8 in CHDK. Will this make a large lens opening and change in DOF or it will give the same results as f/4.0.

Please help. ;

Exactly the same as f/4.0, or more pecisely f/4.1.

The aperture is already fully open.

The f-number is defined by size of entrance pupil and its distance from sensor when focused to infinity.

That  changes with zoom setting.
