RaduP,
do you have both ver.req and vers.req on the card ?

Nice looking camera by the way, good luck.

No, but I tried both (not at the same time). I'll put both now, see if anything changes.
Ok, tried with both at the same time, still no change.

Ok if i have trouble with the SD780 with not having enough buttons you are double messed.  Your down key and DISP are the same.  Ouch....

maybe this is the new Canon "how can we mess up CHDK" strategy  :haha

we might be forced to use the jogdial in the future to construct virtual CHDK keys,
for instance: actuate jogdial -> 'context' menu on screen -> select virtual key

cheers,

wim

I keep thinking that I would like to find out how the integrated Canon menus work and use them.  I beleive I've seen some discussions on it and the consensus was .... it's not easy....?

Well, before we can even think of porting CHDK on it, we need to get the version out :)

No, the fw version doesn't matter in this case...
You need a dump of your fw, so the first step should be to run your own code on your camera, e.g. a modified blinker to discover at least one LED address - or a modified udumper...

And how do you get the platform number then?

Connect the camera to a Linux system, look to the number with lsusb, its part #2 of the USB device ID
(e.g. 04a9:318d for the SX10)

Edit:
Also possible with Windows - you'll find the P-ID in the registry under the key
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB
(search for "Canon" / your camera model there), e.g.
  HardwareID = USB\Vid_04a9&Pid_318d&Rev_0002
  USB\Vid_04a9&Pid_318d

for the SX10; the P-ID is also visible in the device manager tab, see attached image.

Wow, thanks a lot, for some reason I thought that you need the info from the ver.req file for that.
