Shutter speeds

I wish to take a time lapse photo of the stars.   I've looked in the user guide and found a table for fraction of second speeds but couldn't find anything regarding shutter speeds in the seconds.   My question, does the manual have this table somewhere within?  If not, how can i get this info?

Thanks

You mean with CHDK or with the 'unaltered' camera? And what camera is that?

In the CHDK menu, select "Extra photo operations"
In override shutter speed set "shutterspeed enum type" to factor
set "value factor" above that to 1
set "override shutter speed' above that to the length of the desired exposure in seconds.

edit:
If you want to shoot a time lapse (a sequence of pictures at a fixed interval), you will probably need an intervalometer script.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Thank you!  That helps tons!

No, I was hoping to take one long exposure. Any tweaks would help.

Yes, thank you again.  Surprisingly, I've cut it back to about 20 sec. exp.  If i cut it back much more, I could use W/O CHDK.  Main problem is focus.  I realize the rotation of earth will affect the look of the stars, But there is something lacking with the focus.  Thats mainly why I've cut back on exp. time.

Any ideas?

You can try to manually set the focus to infinity and see how it works.

Better, I can increase exp. a little more with the inf. focus

f2.6 @ 30 sec.
