pedrom12, I don't believe there is any reason to wait 10 minutes.  My memory is that the process leaves the processor in an endless loop, which is why you have to remove the battery to continue.  10 minutes of endless loop wouldn't accomplish anything, but probably wouldn't hurt anything either.

If you don't get the  right LED flashes at step 9, it just means that for some unknown reason the process didn't work.  Either the wrong firmware is installed, or some other condition exists that prevents the checks from passing.  So far as I know, there is nothing that can be done to make it work.  This process is still somewhat of a mystery.  The original programmer left no information about what he had done.
