Im really confused. I figured out how to shoot in RAW and DNG, but now I can't export them to my computer. That DNGFPS2 doesn't work with the a2000. Is there any way I can get these images on my computer?

Thanks in advance.

Are you asking how to transfer the files to your computer, or how to open the files or convert them ?

DNG4PS2 is used to convert CHDK raw files to DNG. It will probably not help you convert a2000 files, since it has not been updated to support them. For more information see the stickies in the raw forum.

If you are asking how to transfer the files to your computer, the simplest way is to use a card reader. You may also be able to transfer them to USB by selecting some particular combination of file prefix and extension, but this varies depending on the camera.

Don't forget what the H stands for.

I use a card reader, but when I open DCIM\100Canon I only get the JPEGs. I downloaded Raw Therapee and tried to use it but I still get the JPEGs as far as I can tell

And yes, I'm just trying to get them on my HDD so I can convert and edit them later.

You don't need a special program to get the files off the card reader. If you ware windows, just open the drive from "my computer" or whatever. If the files aren't actually there then maybe there's some problem with raw on this camera, it's a very new port.

Note that where raws are saved will depend on whether you set "RAW file in dir with jpeg" or not.

edit:
note that this will be simpler if you turn off "hide extensions for known file types" in windows folder options.

I think the raw files are saved in a different path than the JPGs, so look at the other directories there.

I think reyalp may be right, because it is a beta, but maybe RAW files shouldn't show up like JPEGS do. I heard other people have the problem with other cameras. And I checked all the directories. I read that the RAW file is not supported except in certain programs, but if you tell CHDK to save it with the CRW extension that those programs with get the RAW file and the Exif data from the JPEG to make a RAW format image? Im still unsure, and if anyone has done this or had my problem and solved it, I'd be more than grateful to hear the solution.

Maybe I'm setting up the camera wrong, but I don't think so because when I click properties on the card, it says the used space is 100mb over the amount of files I can see on it (which is about the amount of space the RAW images are taking up- I looked in file explorer). I really hope this works because all the other CHDK features work as far as I can tell.

Only if you don't select "RAW file in dir with jpeg" and your jpegs are going to a directory other than 100CANON

They are just regular files. If you look at the directory, you should see all the files. If you don't hide the file extensions, it should be very easy to tell if they are there are not. The raws will also be significantly larger than the jpegs.

Many programs don't understand the RAW format, but that does not affect your ability to see that the files exist or copy them.

All this is totally irrelevant to getting the files off of the card.

edit to add:
Note that you can use CHDKs built in file browser to try to find the files on the card, and then look in the same location using windows.

I set my pc to show hidden files and extensions, and I do see the .crw files in the file manager, but they simply don't show up on the pc... Hopefully its me.
