Super-macro zoom

I saw in the beginning of CHDK development that there was a use-case where one could zoom while in super-macro mode. I've tried to replicate that but have failed and the original topic is not to be found. Does anyone have any idea or link?

maybe those who have already tried it would like to post the limits of using this on particular cameras so that there would be a guide on how to do this safely.

Haven't tried, don't plan on trying ;)

I already got scared enough when I got "Lens error, restart camera" while playing with shooting_set_subject_distance()... and I'm already imagining that my maximum focal length has become soft compared to to imaging-resource's review.

Thanks for the fast reply.
Is there any way this could make it outside the script? Perhaps as an override of zoom-rocker while in super-macro mode. Just a thought.

I think not until everyone is quite sure it's not really dangerous...
