oldgit, can  you give me some precisions about the optical zoom ?

I follow your advice, I begin to record, wait a few seconds, but optical zoom don't start...

This feature (Optical Zoom) is still buggy.
I start the recording, then zoom out (press zoom level FULLY left) for ~2 seconds then release
(some times I do this once sometimes twice)
then I can zoom in with Optical.
If the timing is wrong you just get digital zoom.

Also if it uses digital, you are stuck in the digital mode until you turn off cam and restart.
We are working on it, I suggest you join us in the development thread.
