I got a SX120 today.  Was really looking forward to using it w/ CHDK, but has been a disappointment so far.

I managed to load CHDK, also set the card to be bootable.  However none of my settings stick, i.e they all revert back to default settings when powered off.   Tried a 4 GB card  as well as 512 MB.

Any ideas?  I ended up ordering two of these...

What settings are you referring to?
What version of CHDK are you using?
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Settings like custom user menu, 'don't show temperature' etc...

I used sx120is-100b-1.1.0-2418-full_BETA

Strangely, I am not having that issue when I downloaded from the german server
http://forum.chdk-treff.de/download.php

"...to get the menu in english, just delete or rename \CHDK\LANG\german.lng... " -- that did not work for me though.  I still see the menu in german (I could make out most of it though).

On a side note, does the sx120 EAT batteries?  What seems to last forever on my A590 drained so so quickly on the sx120.

The code base is common - you must be doing something else differently ?

Deleting the german.lng file no longer works - better instructions can be found here :

This is quite strange, it would probably mean CHDK isn't able to save the cfg file (CHDK/CCHDK2.CFG)

I checked the http://mighty-hoernsche.de/ autobuild for my a540 and it correctly created the cfg file and saved the settings. If you power off before leaving the menu, they won't be saved.

I managed to easily navigate thru the german menu and change the lang to eng.  I am all fine now.

However I do not recall doing anything differently...  It may be worthwhile to try the default beta english zip package again.  I will try it on a different card and let you know.

I am pretty sure I was out of the CHDK menu (which is a habit for me) when I power it down.

Thanks!

ps: I mainly CHDK for auto bracketing in continuous mode, and the SX120 seems like a turtle (slow) compared to my A570/A590/A720 etc...

I am currently having these issues with all recent builds (unable to load script file, bad pixel file cannot be read).

Workaround: Get hold of an earlier build (e.g. sx120is-100b-1.1.0-2040-full_BETA.zip, from August 2012) which will work fine.

philmoz found and fixed the problem today as reported here : http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=9193.msg95021#msg95021

Should make it into the autobuild tonight.  In the meantime,  here's a build from the svn with the fix included : https://www.box.com/s/vha2p2s1masqnqe9xyla

Hmm... Trochę czasu już upłynęło... To pozwolę sobie napisać po polsku. ;)
Mój aparat to oczywiście PS SX120IS firmware to: GM1.00B Jest jakaś strona inna niż wikia, z której mogę pobrać działającą wersję CHDK?

OK. Now i'll try in english... ;)
When I'd try to actualize my firmwarwe, aparat turned off and nothing done. Could sb. fix my problem? :)
My firmware wersion is: GM1.00B and camera PS SX120IS Is it possible to install any version of CHDK, where can i download it?
