Good morning folks. I would like to mod my SX120. However, I am not sure which page to go so I can follow instructions about modding our SX120. There are 36 pages. Can someone please point me to the right direction as to where to start?

Thanks.

Neil

Hello & welcome, Neil !

Can someone please point me to the right direction as to where to start?
1) Read the CHDK FAQ
  2) Check your firmware version (--> HowTo...) - if it's not 1.00B, then there's no CHDK available for your camera, stop here...

3) if your fw version is 1.00B:
  4) Read here to find & download a full CHDK package
  5) Read more about using CHDK in the CHDK user manual

SX120 is not yet supported in the CHDK autobuild. You can try the german autobuild: http://forum.chdk-treff.de/download.php

If you prefer English, delete the german.lng from CHDK/LANG after installing.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Awesome! I hope it won't break my camera. :)

I extracted CHDK on my SD card. I pressed menu and selected Firm Updated. It asked me to update firmware version.

1.0.0.0 -> 1.1.0.0

I selected 1.1.0.0 and clicked Ok. The screen went black and nothing happened.

From the readme.txt
"- Your camera will now load CHDK. You should see the blue "Print" button on the back of your camera flash a few times to let you know that CHDK is booting, and the CHDK Splash-Screen will appear in your viewfinder or LCD display."

I didn't see it. It just went black.

In case you ask, the file I downloaded is sx120is-100b-1.1.0-full_BETA_rev_696.zip
from http://forum.chdk-treff.de/download.php

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I got it working. I now saw the menus. I just need to figure out how to use it. :)

How come Canon Digital Photo Professional, more commonly known as DPP, does not understand the format raw file that CHDK creates? I opened the .CRW and it cannot understand it.

I also opened the same file using CS5 and it cannot open it too.

Any ideas?
