The truth about CHDK and Canon sx200

Hi guys, first congratulations for CHDK, I'm glad to be a new member.
I'm currently an owner of a sx110 and I was thinking of moving to a sx200 for wider lens, hd video and a few other things and after some research I've found a comment on www.sx200.net regarding CHDK + sx200 but I don't know if that's truth because on the main page those features are not listed, here is the comment from an owner:

Quote
I've had the SX 200 for a month and a half now. I've just loaded CHDK into it, and its capabilities have now shot through the roof ! I like it because it's compact enough to take it anywhere, unlike DSLRs which are not only too bulky to be taken anywhere, but actually attract unwanted attention ( read robbers ). With CHDK installed, I now have live histogram, ability to shoot in RAW, bracketing, long shutter speeds, ultra fast shutter speeds, zebra mode, battery indicator, motion detection trigger ( for photographing lightning strikes ), taking videos greater than 1 Gb, and many many more features. My humble SX 200 now performs like a $ 1000/- camera, and IQ has been greatly enhanced. The SX 200 is one baby that I'll not outgrow in a long time. And don't worry about the always up flash - you'll get used to it soon. It's a small price to pay for such a wonderful camera.
Pat

 Basically:

  • Shoot in RAW
  • Faster shutter (note: sx200 factory min shutter speed is 3.5 while sx110 is 2.8 )
  • Batery Indicator
  • Record videos grater than 1 GB (default factory setting limited to 30min)

Is all of that true?
Thanks

Yes, but the SX200 is still work in progress I think (but mostly done).

Anycase those 4 features I've specified above are already fully working on the sx200 even though there is still work in progress, is that correct?

Thank you

Well, the thread about SX200 is here: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,3994.0.html
It's 40 pages long though.
The RAW shooting should be done, battery indicator should also be done, it's easy.
I am not sure what you mean by: Faster shutter (note: sx200 factory min shutter speed is 3.5 while sx110 is 2.8 )
3.5 and 2.8 what?

Sorry, I was talking about aperture size...
After taking a peak at the forum it looks like they've manage to unlock the optical zoom in movie mode and enabled a third compression method that was taken of on the sx200, the super-fine mode, where we had only fine and normal before, can you confirm that or is it only speculation? (last 4 pages)
Thanks

Well, the min aperture can not not be modified by software, it's a physical thing.
The super fine compression method works, but not sure if it works (yet) for the user, it might be just a developer thing. I mean, no new user accessible menu for it.

Record videos grater than 1 GB (default factory setting limited to 30min)
This is not true.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
