Quick report:

S3IS, 1.00a, trunk1117, locally compiled with reference firmwares and S3IS firmware for findsig.

ptpcam --chdk works, can send LUA scripts. mode switching doesn't work yet, will dig through this thread again... I remember seeing discussion of different ways to switch modes...

ptpcam and ptpCamGui was updated. The GUI is working again properly with CHDK & CHDK-DE. You can test the gui with whim's CHDK shell or as stand alone version.

Another way is reyalp's new project chdkptp, also a very good thing.

Whether this option is still existing, or am I missing something as we are constantly repeated message "No internet connection"?

I've tested once more the recent version of ptpCamGui and it works fore me.

The GUI send google a ping for testing the internet connection. Maybe a firewall block the GUI.

On dryos cams, when you first start in play mode, buttons are not recognized by the canon firmware. Sending post_levent_to_ui(4484) unlocks them, without the requirement of going to rec and back. The levent number may vary, 4484 worked for me on d10. Unfortunately, this levent does not have a string name.

All the basics work here (and then some)!

Notes: If I do not disable WIA service, my LCD display blanks (everything still works, but I can't see any display). When I disable the WIA service, my LCD does not blank, and everything works as expected.

Thank you reyalp for observing msl's observation (I would have missed it otherwise! )

luar post_levent_to_ui(4484)
unlocks my keys just as you said! That was always a hassle, so I'm glad it's "fixed"

@msl, yes, that is absolutly correct. Thanks.

I won't be able to play with PTP for a week or so, and it might be my imagination, but it seems like the connection process is more "stable" now, than it was pre 1.0.

ptpCamGui:

The command luar post_levent_to_ui(4484) to unlock the keys in play mode is now a start option for all DryOS cameras. That means, for all DryOS camera the keys are directly after GUI start unlocked.

I hope the value 4484 is really valid for all DryOS cameras.

Woudn't it be nice to know rather than guess (retorical question)? I know everyone and their brother has said this, but CHDK actually sells some cameras for Canon and I (personally) think that Canon should fill you guys in!
