question about saving as DNG in Canon S5IS

I have just the last week started to save as DNG in camera instead of using dng4ps2. When I want to import the images via USB they all have the DNG extension?? No JPEGs at all. What am I doing wrong? When I put the card in my card reader they show up as IMG_001.DNG and IMG_001.jpg

I have these features ON in the camera.

1 Dark frame subtraction Auto
2 Only first RAW in series on
3 Save RAW
4 RAWfile in dir with JPEG on
5 RAW file prefix IMG_
6 RAW file extension .CRW
7 RAW subtract prefix IMG_
8 RAW subtract exstension .CR2
9 Bad pixel removal Averag.
10 DNG Format on
11 "DNG" file extension on
12 RAW buffer cached on

I also have DNG file visible via USB

Try change it to CRW or something else.

Tried that but only the JPG shows via USB but not the DNG file. Sometimes when I connect the camera via USB the file extension reads bmp and the image is 0kb then I unplug it and plug in again then it reads the files correctly. But no DNG files are shows. If I use the settings in my previous post they all turn up like DNG??

I have tried this too and then  JPEGs shows up via usb  every other time I try and the DNG doesn't show at all. I think I'll stick with my previous routine and read the files via my card reader. That has never failed. Thanks for trying to solve this :-) //Frida

to be honest, i never use cable to download pictures from camera. IMHO card reader is a lot faster and gives more control.
