Back with some news. I was testing a new Autobuild instalation, when I ran the "ultra-intervalometer" script, the frame rate was going down and the blue led would blink between pictures. It turns out that SAVE RAW was active by default. When I turned it off, the fps came back to normal.
So I don't know if this was the reason SDM was not working correctly. Will try again later.
