Hello. I have ver 1.02b and can install CHDK on a 4GB card fine. I also have an 8GB card. Will this version of CHDK work with this? I've tried making 2 partitions and making the first bootable. This will work, but then I can't see the photos (on the 2nd partition) in Windows. If I swap partitions within the camera before removing the card, I can see the photos in Windows, but then I can't use CHDK again in the camera. Also, I can't seem to manually boot CHDK. When I start the camera and go to the menu, there is no option for "Firmware Update". Can anyone PLEASE help with any of this? Thank you.

Installing CHDK can be challenging on SD Cards larger than 4G. A couple of weeks ago I created documentation that should help you with all of your questions and get you on the right track. The swapping issues and setting up SD Cards larger than 4G are described the 2009 CHDK User Guide on pages 43, 45 and 46, but some of the information is incorrect/misleading. The documentation I created includes the actual photos of the process I used on multiple brands of SD Cards and all worked with no problems. I wanted to create a simpler instruction guide for the process so that I didn't have problems later.

Here's a link to the PDF file:

The links to the files mentioned in the documentation can be found on the CHDK web site. Let me know if you can't find them. Good luck.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! SDM Installer is exactly what I needed. I could get CHDK to work, but couldn't swap the partitions around once the card was removed from the camera. The documentation you created was perfect. Finally I can use CHDK AND access my photos as I want. Thank you for your fast response.
