how do i comment out a line of code?
edit: figured it out - two // before that line....(right)

I compiled and then tried changing the video parameters - did nothing, so i assume i got it right.

but now, i've proved there is nothing wrong with the chdk movie control code.....because without it, the camera still displays the internal memory bar and stops recording sometimes.

the movie function on this camera really doesn't like me taking any of the exmem space...lol....pickey, ornery little thing, eh

Hi bdasmith,

Not that this will help you in any way but ever since I downloaded build 1146, I have not once experienced the video function to not work properly, I have tested many many times with very long and short videos and the camera work perfectly without stopping. I don't know why you still have problems with videos but for me, it is just fine. I know I cannot help because I don't have the ability to make codes like you do but I just wanted to let you know.

And my SX20 doesn't crash anymore either. :)

Is the 1146 version you are using from the autobuild server?

if it is, then yes it will be working fine, as it does for my sx20 1.02d also.

with my camera, I am testing to get Exmem to work with this camera.
Please see the thread

f_m_b has this memory allocation working on his sx20 1.02b and i would like to use this as well, but the video is causing a bit of a snag with it.

Just to clarify (and avoid any confusion), when 'Video Mode' is set to Default then the value of 'Video Quality' is not relevant.

'Video Mode' = Default means let the camera use it's own settings, no override is done.
'Video Mode' = Quality means override the camera quality setting with the value in 'Video Quality'.

Phil.

That's what I thought... And unless quality is set below 50, I can't even begin to take a video in quality mode lol. And that's with a Class 10 32GB card.

Are you saying that the 'quality' setting still has an effect when you have 'video mode' set to default ?

I believe he is saying that when he sets the 'video mode' to quality, he has to change the 'video quality' setting down to 50 or below to record.

he was agreeing with Philmoz post on pg 82 of this thread about how the video settings work.

Thanks for clarifying. I've noticed before that the default quality of current cams does not appear to be 84. See http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6006.0 for example.
