Sleep until ready

Hi,

I have managed to write a simple UBASIC script for bracketing in my Ixus 40 (SD300).  It works, but it's far from optimal.  Namely, I have run into two problems:

  • After each shoot, I tell the script to sleep for 5 seconds to give the camera time to process the image.  This number is likely larger than what is really necessary.  But how do I write in the script "sleep until you are ready for further instructions"?
  • I have activated the "Fast EV switching" option in the menu, but it doesn't seem to be working.  Is this feature available only for some camera models or am I missing something else?  I am running CHDK 0.9.8-813 using the ixus40_sd300 (100k) build.

Thank you in advance!
Jon

Hello and welcome,

You can use get_shooting. This command returns 1 when shooting is in progress.

For brackting you should use set_ev. "Fast Ev switching" is a function for fast Ev settings.
