I got a SD1100 for Christmas. This week-end I tried to put CHKD on it. The SD card is 8Gb, I use linux and have a card reader. First, I created a ver.req file in the root directory of the partition. My firmware is 1.01a.
I downloaded the corresponding autobuild. I backed up the pictures and used gparted to create a 24 mb FAT16 partition with a bootable flag before the 8Gb FAT32 partition. It went right, the pictures are still there. The boot partition is seen as the second partition by linux though, don't know why.
I put in DISKBOOT.BIN in the boot partition and tried the camera. Nothing special happened, no new menu etc. Problem, it now says that there are "No Images" when I press play (the files are still there, the directory structure is intact)
I removed the FAT16 partition, there is now 24MB of empty space followed by the FAT32 partition with the DCIM folder, the pictures, etc.
I put the card back in the camera, still "No pictures". Damn!
Any idea what is going wrong?
