Hi,

Would it be possible to perform a simple firmware hack, which did nothing else than change the JPEG-compression settings? I have a Powershot A1100IS, and it lacks the SuperFine option. I imagine it would be possible to simply change the compression ratio of the Fine option? There is no CHDK available for this camera yet, and I don't think I even need all the features of CHDK.

Not easy, because you can't write to the ROM to change stuff. So you'd have to port CHDK anyway to get that working. And yes, it is possible with CHDK (although not implemented).

Too bad. I guess my only hope is to figure out how to port CHDK then. Any nice "getting started" threads in this forum?
