Completely non techy guy - beginner questions

Hi.. I am having a dinner party soon as was thinking it would be cool to have my camera take a photo every 10 or 20 mins and compile it into a image sequence to turn it into a time-lapse movie. I did some reading about the wiki and it seams that CHDK is exactly what I need... but the site has so much information I ma not sure what to do I am a little confused.

My Camera - Cannon EOS 400D (EF-S 18-55 Kit)

I looked though the scripts area but could only see a few scripts for time-lapse and these seamed for much longer periods of time like say shots of stars or clouds or plants growing.. as in 1-12 shots a day... not a shot every 10 mins.

Would someone please recommend me a build for my camera as well as point me to a script I would need?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, there are no CHDK builds for Canon digital SLR's.

Even if there were, bearing in mind that a time-lapse sequence converted to a movie will playback at 30 images per second, you will need to shoot at a far shorter interval than ten minutes !
Also, do not capture high resolution images, if possible 640x480 or 800x600 or whatever the 400D sizes are will be sufficient.

I think you can buy a plug-in controller for the 400D that has a time-lapse function.
