_dng.flt is there in the zip file along with all the other necessary files.  Did you delete the old files from the SD card before copying in the new ones?  Did you copy over everything in the zip file?  If not, maybe that's the source of all the problems right from the beginning.

@waterwingz: I agree that he should use a new version of CHDK once he knows what's going wrong.  My version was just to test whether his setup would at least work with one that I know works on my A4000 cameras.

Yes, did that. I tried loading it from Stick as well. Same results on all 3 cameras. It takes 1 photo and then does nothing else even though it appears the script is still running. I don't get it.

So I tried resetting the camera back to the default settings and using CHDK. Now intervalometer works. So some custom camera setting I had broke the intervalometer script. I had changed a number of things in order to conserve battery life, among other things. I'll have to figure out which setting was conflicting.

SOLVED: if you have the Review option set to HOLD then the intervalometer will not work.
