setmode.lua crashes the camera after about half a dozen mode changes, but doesn't seem to leave any log behind.

EDIT: But if I do the mode changes manually using chdkptp it dies on COLOR_SWAP - I tested *ALL* other modes and they look to be OK (quirky display notwithstanding).i.e. you can change to the mode without it crashing the camera, and there look to be suitable adjustments made on the camera when the mode is selected. I can test this more carefully once we have fixed a few of the other issues.

Slight improvement to live view in chdkptp, now we have half a live view in all modes, not just video mode.

... and I can select all the modes from chdkptp without crashing the camera. There still remains an issue with them though, since selecting modes from the chdkptp dropdown list works, but the related icon is not always correctly mirrored on the overlay. This may be related to the ordering of the modes in the list, which seems to be incorrect.

@ahull
Can't really explain why you're getting these weird screens. If overlay is not up-to-date, that's probably because CHDK doesn't know which of the 2 bitmap buffers is the latest one.
If you want, you could upload full RAM dumps taken in a mode that has issues (for example 1 in rec mode, 1 in play mode). If you do this, use an empty card, and point the cam to something recognizable (full black or white liveview makes framebuffers hard to recognize). You can use 7zip to compress the dumps.
Is nafraf's source the latest one?

Yes, it was compiled using this code, rev 569

viewport width functions should be wrong.

Interesting, http://www.filedropper.com/ixus850sd800-100e-130-3194-full locks up the camera (requiring me to remove the battery) when I connect using chdkptp, otherwise it seems to work OK.

It locks up at the moment I hit connect, and I see"ERROR: failed" on the chdkptp console.

The log indicates a "data abort" exception in CHDK code. A core/main.bin.dump of the binary could provide further details.
