Got the port booting last night. Was previously seeing flash of the power button then shutdown. Went through all the addresses and re-verified against sd1000 locations to get it going. raw still seems to crash it, haven't verified everything else.

Incredible.  You guys are wizards.  I did experience the same shutdown problem in RAW mode.  I find the Zebra and histogram displays look great.  I have only started to play.  Thanks for basically giving me a whole new, much better, camera!  PB

Just a hint: also check the PARAM_FILE_COUNTER value in shooting.c - I spent a lot of time when porting a530 checking capt_seq.c for errors when problem was there...

Interesting - what is that value based on, or rather how would someone find it for their model?

Using the PARAM_FILE_COUNTER value of 0x34 seemed to get RAW working. It works fine with the 306 build, but when i went to 307/308/309 things got funky - the camera was stuck in alt mode.

Beta 2 now available - raw support fixed via the PARAM_FILE_COUNTER change bondo suggested. a make clean fixed the alt mode issues i was hitting.

Big improvement!  The camera doesn't shut down in RAW mode.  Unfortunately, I can't see the pictures using the Microsoft RAW viewer, but I can with Picasa.  Awesome.

he did it! :D but... got a (probably) dumb question: has anyone got the 'override aperture value' entry in their menus? can't find it in extra photo operations. (shutter, iso etc is all there) very strange.

As well as 100.e some ixus805/sd800 cameras have firmware with a version of 1.00d. Is anyone planning to produce a dump and work on that?
