script to keep camera from sleeping?

i'm curious if there is a method available to keep the camera from powering down. ideally i could programmatically change the auto down off setting but it occurred to me that may be possible to interrupt the inactivity count.

yes, i could simply set "auto power down" to off but i'm working with a remotely deployed camera and i'm concerned with the settings being lost.

How about Miscellaneous -> Disable LCD Off  -> set to [Script] ? won't that do it ?
(note i'm assuming you are running a script when reading 'remotely deployed')

i'm not sure, will it? perhaps you're telling me rather than asking me.

i wasn't assuming that the LCD affected auto power down.

just tested it on A590:  Auto Power Down = on + LCD Disable = Alt -> cam is still on (in Review <Alt> mode) after 15 min...
so i guess it works

thanks!

is there a way to set chdk settings programmatically? would be the best way when working with a camera in the field.

There's Zeno's config editor: http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/kapstuff/zcfgedit.html  which is up to date to trunk 813
atm (not sure if anything changed since)

or you could of course set it up on your cam while comfortably at home, copy CCHDK.CFG to a safe place and from there
to other cards as needed
