Im doing often timelapse caputure with chdk...
is possible to change the name of the pictures generated by the camera?
Usually the camera has this order:
Image_0001.jpg
Image_0002.jpg
...
Image_9998.jpg
Image_9999.jpg
and then (whitout 0000)
Image_0001.jpg

This is not useful when you import in an editing software.
Is possible to force a counter with 5 digits?

p.s. there is a way to show how many pictures was really shoot by a fotocamera?

Best regards.
Enrico.

You can't change that naming convention, but you can mass rename according to date after you get them to your PC. I think exiftool can even do that from the datestamp in the exif tag.

For shot count, see http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Vers.req#Q._How_can_I_get_the_original_firmware_version_number_of_my_camera.3F.

FYI, the standard that defines the file naming convention is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_rule_for_Camera_File_system
Don't forget what the H stands for.

you can make separate sequences in virtualdub (compressing) and then stitch them together (direct stream copy). that process does not require you to change file names.

alternatively you can change all images file names easily with irfanview, but that takes some time (you can rename & copy to hard drive at the same time with irfan).

you can also change some camera settings so that your sequence will start from 0000 instead of last used number (continuous numbering).
