Any suggestions from anyone?

Hi !

Yes, download DISKBOOT.BIN for your camera from here http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/sdm/index.htm
In Stereo menu, choose option to extend lens.

If you have problems with your script, let me know.

I strongly suggest you study and try time_lapse.bas supplied with Common_files.zip and described here :-

Hi David

thanks, i'll give that a go. In the meantime i have found another solution - an S2IS i also have works fine, since the playback / shutter mode button is configured differently and it has worked fine in the tests i have just carried out. However, the A560 is smaller and it is good to know that the option is there. Thanks a lot for your help I really appreciate it.

The S2 is also one of the few Powershots which powers on with an USB pulse - the A590 and almost all newer cameras don't power on by USB.
