I downloaded the user guide, but I'm not sure I understand how to load a new script. I'm specifically interested in doing high speed flash photo (ie drops of water, etc)
Can someone please point me in the right direction on where to find this script and how to load it?
You don't need a script for that - just set up the value in the CHDK "Extra Photo Operations" menu ->

\CHDK\SCRIPTS\ folder on your SD card, then
load them from the CHDK "Scripting parameters" menu:

To write own scripts or to use sample code (e.g. from the CHDK wikia), use a text editor (e.g. the Windows Notepad),
store the files with
.bas (for uBasic) or
.lua (for Lua scripts) as filename extension; use
ANSI coding (unicode will not work).
For MD (motion detection) you should use this script:
