How do I save my settings/open my RAW files?

First Question: Whenever I turn off my camera (A530), it deletes my CHDK settings. Is there any way to prevent this?
Second Question:What would be a good program for working with RAW files? Photoshop CS3 isn't letting me work with the .CRW files I'm getting. =/

Thanks in advance.

Settings: Settings should be saved automatically when you leave alt mode.

Raw: see the raw forum, especially the sticky threads. http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Software may also be useful.

By leave alt. mode, do you mean just pressing the print button to leave alt mode? Even if I turn off the SD lock, it still wipes my settings after I turn the camera off.

Yes, just pressing the print button to leave alt mode. Opening and then closing the CHDK menu should also save it AFAIK.

But perhaps you mean something more specific than just CHDK settings ? There is an option to clear overrides on restart.

The SD lock has nothing to do with it, when CHDK is running, the camera ignores the lock completely.

There is an option to clear overrides on restart.
"Clear ... on Start [ ]" ("Clear ... @start" on newer CHDK versions), this is enabled by default:
