Lens retract time

Did anyone manage to find and modify the variable that holds the lens retract time when in playback mode?
I would like to leave the lens extended indefinitely while in playback mode..

I don't remember seeing that done before. Then again my memory is full basketball size holes ;).

I am thinking, maybe there is a task that does that? Or a prop?

It doesn't seem to be a prop, but I did find a way to trick the camera, I set the "lens out" variable as 0 at the beginning of my hibernation function, then set it as 1 at the end, and the camera is happy :)

Radup,

I wonder if i may hi-jack this thread and ask if you could explain in more detail how to disable lens retract mode?

The reason I ask is that I have managed to get remote capture to work on my a710is, which is absolutely unbelievable and heaven sent for afocal telescope work. The main bonus is that I can minutely alter manual focus (say for four shots) then go to playback and check for the best focused image. However, often before I have decided, the lens retracts and it takes time to reset etc. Is there a way to diable this process?

There is a function called something like: islensout or something.
The function references a memory location. Put 0 in that location then the camera will be happy. But remmeber to put 1 back when you want to take the shot.
