No, nothing beta related. Please refer to the CHDK manual to see how to power on the camera direct into shooting mode (hold the ON/OFF button longer), and how to enter the CHDK menu (press the print button).

Ah excellent, thank you. Apologies for being a moron who didn't RTFM. :)

HELP... :-[

with my G11 I take a lot of shots with only one hand while I'm rockclimbing...  8)
so that often my thumb accidentally touch the rear control wheel  >:(

Could anyone release a feature  (script?) to DISABLE THE REAR CONTROL WHEEL when needed ? ::)

Thanks... :)

Disabling the WHEEL in non ALT mode should be possible (and i think this would be also a usefull feature for the S90 port, because you change here the wheel all the time accidentally, and that happens on the S90 also without doing any rock climbing! ;) )
But its not possible to do this with a simple script or so. The port/chdk has to be adapted to provide this function (so this is a CHDK feature request to be specific).

The question is, how to do the enabling/disabling of the wheel. Via a CHDK menu entry, or what do you have in mind?

Okay, then please try the attached 1.00J build.
Under "Miscellaneous stuff" you will find (at the bottom of the menu) the new menu point "Lock Jogdial".
If activated, the rear jogdial should be blocked for NON-ALT mode. That means the jogdial is still usable in the
CHDK Menus/ALT mode, but locked for the "normal operation" canon menus.

No problem, any single key can be locked if necessary.
Try the attached build, now also UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT should be locked in non-alt mode.
