Beta2:
* fixed bracketing with self-timer
+ added longer(>64s) exposures
+ added some video features: mute on zoom, AF scan and AE shift (press "menu" key during video recording to activate AE shift).

Binaries: attached to this post.
Sources: here.

Thanks! Good work.

Works great - I only got two problems

When I try to go from view to record mode using [>] button, camera turns off. Is a function or an error?

After a while in main memu (or while digging in submenus) screen will turn off and green led wil lit (and stay this way). I have to turn camera off and on in order to fix that.

Many, many thanks for porting CHDK to this camera! :)

Camera feature. If camera is turned on in playback mode, pressing (>) button turns it off. Use shutter or "mode" button to switch camera to record mode.

In record mode? Display is turned off according to camera settings. Go to CHDK menu, "misc. stuff"->"disable LCD off" -> set it to <alt> (this is default value!). Or exit <alt> mode and press any button.

Quite right - but when i used original firmware it used to turn on (with on/off button) directly to record mode. In chdk it remembers last state - so even if I turn my camera on with on/off button, it behaves as if I turned it on with [>] (if i turbed off my camera while in preview mode). It causes a bit of confusion - can it be adjusted so it won't restore last mode? I went through menu and found nothing.

Second problem dissapeared when I restored settings, so I probably just messed up with configuration.

Btw. is there no option for showing DNG via USB or am I blind? Sorry for all those questions, I just happily explore chdk ^^

Hello,
I'm testing CHDK in my A480 and working fine. I found, that if I press play button with ALT function enabled, it enable RAW image saving. I'm not sure if it right or not.

One question about porting? What about PTP interface in A480? Will be implemented? I'd like to use A480 as webcam with downloading images to PC without manual operation using linux script and ghoto.

Downloading works out of the box with stock A480 firmware. At least with my digiKam and libgphoto 2.4.6.
But thats all. You just can't do anything except transferring (and deleting) images. And it doesn't depend on CHDK.

Oh yeah. And P2P doesn't work with "USB remote" option turned on.

I know this, but when I connect A480 to computer, camera is switched to playback mode, in some post in another thread is hack for PTP, that allow use PTP during normal operation of camera, but this hack is not yet implemented in CHDK for A480.

Press and hold on/off button until lens comes out.

No such option, sorry.

Yes, this is standard shortcut to turn on/off RAW (since A480 has no "disp" or "+/-" button, CHDK uses "playback" button instead of it).
