I have just loaded the scripts to my Canon SX10 IS using Card Tricks. It seemed like everything went okay. I set it to save in RAW and to boot on opening. I have taken a couple of sample shots (hmmm . . . it takes the camera longer to process these!), and they are large files. I can see the file in Bridge, but there is no thumbnail. When I open it (and yes, I have Photoshop's preferences to open RAW files) I get the following error message: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."

If I go back to Bridge, I can open the jpegs up in raw, but when I select the crw or cr2 files (I even tried changing the extension), the option to open the selected file in raw grays out.

What can I do? I am really looking forward to using this.

See the sticky threads. CHDK raw is not actually CRW or CR2 format. You need a tool that understand CHDK raw, or to shoot DNG instead.

I have been hunting and searching for such a tool. I have found a dng for powershot converter, but it doesn't include the IS10 1S. I've gone to the Adobe site, and my camera isn't included in their conversion software either.

I haven't seen the option to shoot DNG in the CHDK software, but there's a lot there and I may have missed it.

Any more thoughts would be most welcome.

New Versions of RawTherapee & UFRAW+GIMP and also many other DCRAW based Apps support the CHDK RAW images from the SX10 now...

Thanks! I went to the link and enabled the script . . . now it shoots DNG. There is so much data on this forum, it's hard to know where to look. I appreciate your simple, easy to follow directions!! Happy New Year!  :xmas

As most having this problem (opening the CRW file) know, the program called DNG4PS-2 is very good, BUT when using the program you must first enter these values in "Settings" of DNG4PS-2...
It's right here: http://snafs.com/tag/dng4ps/ and works perfectly. 
The resulting DNG can be opened easily in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.
