Does anyone have a md script that will work on a Canon S2 IS

Nothing happens.

Are you actually starting the script? In normal REC mode, press and release the ALT button and then shoot.

Camera  S2IS
Firware GM1.00F
CHDK Autobuild 0.7.1, revision #548.

I put the following scripts in the Scripts folder of CHDK
accurate_intervalo.bas
Lightning script.bas
long-exp-clicker.bas
ShutterSpeedAB.bas
tv_uni_e.lua
MDFB-080914-VideoButtonModels.bas

When I tried to run these scripts (main menu>scripting parameters>load script from file) only ShutterSpeedAB.bas & tv_uni_e.lua were recognised by chdk

Can somebody help?

What do you mean by recognising? You still have the previously loaded script there and the new one never gets loaded and thus starting the script starts the previously loaded script?

Try updating to latest CHDK from http://mighty-hoernsche.de/chdk/, and delete the old configuration file(s) from CHDK/, it's possible there's something wrong with it.

For the other scripts I can't say much, but make sure your MDFB file comes directly from my zip file, with absolutely no changes. If it starts working after that, then you have some sort of a problem with how you write or process the files. Make sure your scripts have proper linefeeds, preferably without carriage returns. I think someone's been able to screw up scripts on macs before somehow, never paid attention to that I'm afraid.

Also try renaming the scripts to proper 8.3 names with .bas (.lua for lua scripts) without special characters such as spaces.

G'day,
          I just updated to s5is-101b-0.7.1-548-full and want to say thanks for fixing the video MD part of the script,it works perfect on MD080419 and MD080716 at all resolutions and frame rates.
Its been reported that the script isnt very fast on this build but I can say that its no slower on this S5IS
The TV-Lua script works great too!!
I can now use all the great stuff that Juciphox provides

I don't know the details, but for the speedup that someone said may be gone due to a fix for your camera is not something you would notice without accurate measurements. If I'm not mistaken this it's the multibuffer speedup that may be gone, which doesn't actually even make MD top it's top speed. Instead, it makes MD always achieve it's top speed (or near top speed). We're talking about always getting about 100 ms reaction time versus sometimes getting 100 ms, sometimes 180 ms (numbers from the top of my head, not actual statistics for any camera).

i tried the MDFB-080716 script (propset 3) with my A550, using flash, because it says in the doc:
 "Bug:  Flashlight may not be compatible with this script. It's adviceable
      not to use auto flash or flash enable modes when the camera
      is unattended, unless you don't mind the camera randomly
      turning itself off without retracting the lense.."
After as far about 20 shots, the camera hasn't misbehaved yet, taking photos with flash each (except one where I shone with an electric torch at it). With or without flash, the script appears to function on the A550.

Thanks for reporting, good to hear it works for you.

It's been a while since I wrote the script and CHDK has had a LOT of development done on it since. I tried it with a recent build and flash (tried in fast mode MD auto mode flash on a570is) and it still crashes the camera (this time on third shot).

Fast mode is/was more likely to crash than slow mode, I think.

hello! i have tested this script on my A590IS (loaded with the morebest build [the one in the autobuild]) and it works great!

i downloaded the zip file from this post:
Fast MD with burst/preview mode

and with the stock settings it is very fast!

i set it to ISO1600 (for a faster shutter speed) and tossed my slipper in front of the camera and it captured it in the middle of the frame! (it was blurred from motion obviously).




i tried the video mode and it also works, but i have a request for a new feature.

you should make an option to continue recording the video until no motion is detected, this would be useful for something like a surveillance camera.

so this is a confirmation that it so far works on DryOS cameras!!



i haven't messed with this motion detection stuff since i had my old sd1000 (before i broke it and got an a590is), does anyone remember how to test the reaction time of the camera? wasn't it some program that puts bars across the screen?
