How do you Zoom when doing time lapse?

Hi,

I need to zoom in on a subject while doing a time lapse. Does anyone know how this can be done?

Right now, when I do a time lapse, the camera doesn't allow me to use the zoom function.

I have a Canon Powershot SX10 IS
