Autoboot with A2000IS (GM1.00B) and a 16GB Card

Did anyone succeed in auto-booting 16GB on A2000IS?

I prepared two primary partitions on the card: 32MB FAT16 and the rest FAT32.  I copied DISKBOOT.BIN and PS.FI2 to the FAT16 partition and the CHDK directory to the FAT32 partition.

I can turn on the camera and perform the "Firmware Update" step and get CHDK to work.  Great!  However I can't get it to autoboot.  I marked the FAT16 partition as a "boot" partition in gpartd.  I also tried "make bootable" from within CHDK on the camera.   But it doesn't help.  When the card is locked, the camera will not autoboot chdk.  Too bad!

I read in an early post (I believe - from 2008) that autoboot is camera specific, and so I wondered, was the code added to support A2000IS (I have a Firmware Ver GM1.00B).

Again, CHDK works on the card!  When I run it manually via "Firmware Update" it works and then the camera recognizes the FAT32 partition.  It just won't autoboot.  Also, I got autoboot to work on a 2GB card, single partition.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

This will not help, canon does not use the normal boot flag. You need to write the string BOOTDISK into the disk, as described at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Bootable_SD_card
Don't forget what the H stands for.

It worked!  With Linux gpartd just like a breeze.  How did I miss this section about BOOTDISK string?  Thanks a lot!
