Hello & welcome pelrun,

you can download the latest CHDK for the A460 1.00D from the CHDK Autobuild, the A460 is already finally ported - b6 is an older beta version...

hi a460 users,
id like to buy a cheap, used camera dedicated only to chdk (mostly time-lapse).
would you recommend a460 for this purpose or should i invest in a more advanced model? it costs about 45-50 euro, if it isnt necessary i wont spend more on a second camera...

At 45 euro it's a steal. My girlfriend has one of these and in daylight the output is comparable to any P&S from Canon.

It won't be useful in low light though with its smaller than average sensor and undersized flash. It only takes two AA batteries so flash recycle time is very slow (about 3-4 seconds) during which the display is blanked.

Manual controls are inexistent until you install CHDK. It doesn't have a mechanical aperture (I think), only ND filter(s).

Let me show you an example so you know what you are dealing with, shot at low quality, maximum resolution.

i appreciate your opinion, i will buy one, you are right, its a steal...
i dont expect wonders, only to do its job, like taking hundreds of pictures from the same plant in a few months 8).
and THANK GOD its hungry mouth is on its side, so a tripod wont cause a problem feeding it - a great advantage!
