I get the following version of my IXUS220HS (aka ELPH300HS).

"Unknown (0x3040000)"

Maybe the correct type can be added to next CameraVersion release.

Thx

Michi

Hi Michi,

CameraVersion is designed to be updated by the user: just use the button 'Phil's Site', and use the link
marked "Windows Executable: exiftool-8.56.zip" (version can change, of course) to download (>3 MB)
The zip contains 1 file, "exiftool(-k).exe"; put that in the same folder as CameraVersion, and it should work,
just tested it with version above, mine said 100 C .
(note that it will take a couple of seconds to react the first time, because it'll automatically rename the exe)

hope that helps,

wim

Oooops,

my post was not very precise:  please click on the attached "jpg".
The version displayed at my camera is "100 C" too, but the "Camera" field says "Unknown"!
I assume, that is translated by "CameraVersion"!?
Not a real issue, but not as nice as it could be.

...have fun...

Michi

P.S.: I've problems with the ver.req and dump formated cards, it's out-of-topic in this thread, but how/where did you dumped the ELPH300 image?

The firmware version can always be decoded (it's a fixed algorithm), but turning the unique model id (0x3040000) into a model name requires the program analysing the photo (e.g. CameraVersion or my Acid program) to know how to do it. That means continually updating a table every time Canon brings out a new camera.

I only add new entries to the Acid table when work on porting the camera is relatively advanced.

Thanks for your reply!

The problem is already fixed by upgrading to exiftool-8.56 within CameraVersion.

...have fun...

Michi
